Cornubia, planned in line with sustainable development principles, is designed to provide for KwaZulu-Natal's largest mixed-use, mixed income and fully-integrated human settlement. It provides for higher densities, a range of income levels and the stimulation of employment and economic opportunities, creating the basis for new housing, schools, clinics and other social infrastructure. Cornubia has emerged as a highly sought after residential and business location, with rapid uptake of commercial and industrial sites by developers, end-users and investors who recognise the development's attributes.
The CIBE will provide, preserve, use land or buildings to enable the creation of a contemporary Industrial Business Park which can accommodate a wide range of uses including warehousing, assembly, service and light industrial, distribution, logistics, showrooms, offices and retail set within a landscape environment. Primary access will be off both the MR79 in Ottawa as well as the newly opened MR458 (Longifolia road) off the R102. With the proposed Blackburn Link road, it will eventually have connectivity to the N2 freeway in the east. The Go!Durban Cornubia Boulevard will link the estate to Cornubia Town Centre and Umhlanga in the next few years.
Remaining hectares consist primarily of a single, large site. The site is being marketed based on the increasing attractiveness of the location as the remainder of the estate continues to be built.
